Genevieve, Heather, Sara, & Ann – High School Stem Cell Research Interns – Summer 2013

Genevieve DeKorver is a High Tech High School student, Sara D’Souza is a Canyon Crest Academy student, Ann Liu is Westview High School student and Heather Macomber is a High Tech High International student. They all are doing stem cell research internships this summer in labs of Jeanne Loring, Eric Topol and Bruce Torbett at The Scripps Research Institute. Their internships are funded by California’s Stem Cell Agency (CIRM) through the CIRM Creativity Awards grant.

This year, we decided to let the students tell their own stories about life in the lab and their hopes for the future. During the course of their internships, we’ve asked them to submit YouTube videos as well as Instagram photos and a blog about their experience. Visit our Through Their Lens page for photos and more videos from students and grantees.
