Spotlight on Deafness
On March 12, 2008, the CIRM Governing Board heard from three speakers about the promise of stem cell research in treating deafness and hearing loss. They learned about current treatments for deafness and hearing lossĀ from Karen Doyle, CIRM-funded stem cell research from Ebenezer Yamoah. In addition, Diana Kaljian, one of Dr. Doyle’s patients, spoke about her severe hearing loss. .
