The 15th Annual UC Systemwide Bioengineering Symposium at UC Irvine from June 18-20, 2014 was successful in its goal of unifying all ten campuses of the University of towards tackling common missions and challenges critical to the needs of human health and the future of the state of California. Advances in stem cell technologies, key to the discovery and development of cures, therapies, diagnostics and research technologies to cure diseases and injury and as such, took a focus at this conference.
The conference 60 invited and selected speakers, 4 Keynote Speakers, a ‘Tech Translation’ panel (with Faculty, IP lawyers, entrepreneurs and Tech Transfer offers weighing in), A Student Shark Tank, A Junior Faculty Shark Tank, A Senior Design Showcase Competition, and mentoring lunches for students interested in both academia and industry.
