Joseph Wu, Stanford University
Dr. Wu has a CIRM Disease Team award to use embryonic stem cell-derived heart muscle cells to treat patients with end stage heart failure. You can read a description of his project here.
Fred Lesikar
Mr. Lesikar participated in a stem cell based clinical trial to regenerate scarred tissue damaged damaged by a heart attack. Read a feature story about him.
