Introducing our New Strategic Plan
The CIRM team and ICOC Board are thrilled to introduce our new mission statement and strategic plan laying out a roadmap for the Stem Cell Agency for the next five years (2022 – 2027). The passage of Proposition 14 in 2020 has positioned the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) to continue to deliver the full potential of regenerative medicine to the people of California and around the world.
CIRM’s new mission statement is: Accelerating world class science to deliver transformative regenerative medicine treatments in an equitable manner to a diverse California and world.
The Strategic Plan is organized into three main themes, and each theme is comprised of 5-year strategic goals, listed below:
Advance World Class Science
Deliver Real World Solutions
Provide Opportunity for All
“We realize that these are ambitious goals but they are achievable,” says Dr. Maria T. Millan, the President and CEO of CIRM. “If CIRM is going to continue to be a global leader in the field of regenerative medicine, and to live up to the faith shown in us by the people of California, we believe we have to aim high. We have a terrific team, a clear vision and a determination to fulfill our mission. And that’s what we intend to do.”
