The 2015 USC/UCLA/UCSF Tri-Institution retreat was held in Fess Parker Resort in Santa Barbara from 5/17-5/19. The meeting was a huge success. We had over 280 participants from the three institutions plus from companies such as Sanofi, Amgen, ThermoFisher, Cellular Dynamics, Fluidigm and several other biotech companies. It is the first time that this type of meeting opens to for profit organizations. The feedback from meeting goers are very positive. Everyone was impressed by the program, the quality of the talks and the posters. In addition, everyone had a good time participating various leisure activities organized by the meeting organizers. The researchers from the three institutions discussed their research, and exchanged ideas for future collaborations. It is an example of a great scientific retreat.
