(Part 3 of 7) Neurologist Neal Hermanowicz, and Alzheimer’s patient advocates, Susan Franklin and Serge Morales, spoke at “Synapses Firing: Connections Made”, a patient advocacy event hosted by the California stem cell funding agency (CIRM). The 100+ people in attendance heard from patient advocates about living with neurodegenerative disease and from scientists about recent progress in stem cell research that may lead to new treatments.
