Spotlight on Batten Disease: Seminar by Ann Tsukamoto, Ph.D.
Ann Tsukamoto, Ph.D. spoke at the “Spotlight on Batten Disease,” an educational event presented at the CIRM Governing Board meeting on August 13, 2008. Tsukamoto reviewed the process of isolating, characterizing, and preparing human central nervous stem cells for use in a clinical trial designed to test a Batten disease cell-based therapy. Tsukamoto is the Chief Operating Officer at Stem Cells, Inc.
Dr. Tsukamoto was introduced by Stephen Huhn, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.P. Dr. Huhn is Vice President and Head of the Neural Program at Stem Cells, Inc. He is on leave from Stanford University’s School of Medicine, where he is Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
