Making Regenerative Medicine Reachable

CIRM is dedicated to accelerating the development of cell and gene therapies and making them accessible to Californians who need them.

Our goal is to shape a more inclusive and equitable regenerative medicine landscape and to make the power of cell and gene therapy treatments reachable.

Access to Clinical Trials

CIRM funds nine Alpha Clinics across California. These first-of-their-kind specialized clinics provide access to clinical trials and pave the way for groundbreaking cell and gene therapy treatments emerging from CIRM-funded and other research.

Aligning to Community Needs

CIRM is developing Community Care Centers of Excellence (CCCEs) designed to serve as a hub for expanding access to clinical trials, regenerative medicine treatments, and CIRM education and training programs. The program will support community-based partnerships to engage populations that can benefit from treatments.

Supporting Patients

CIRM’s Patient Support Program will help Californians access CIRM-funded clinical trials and provide financial support through CIRM’s Patient Assistance Fund. The program will also help remove informational and logistical barriers experienced by clinical trial patients and their family members.
