On August 13, 2008, the CIRM Governing Board heard from three speakers about the promise of stem cell research in treating Batten disease. They learned about the current clinical trial for Batten disease, the process of bringing stem cell-based therapies to clinical trial, and the impact of Batten disease on families from Tony Ferrandino.
