Spotlight on Diabetes
On September 25, 2008, the CIRM Governing Board heard from three speakers about the promise of stem cell research in treating Type 1 diabetes, formerly known as juvenile diabetes. They learned about CIRM-funded stem cell research from Emmanuel Baetge, current treatments for diabetes from Peter Butler, and life with diabetes from Joelle Johnson.
